If you want to study in Semester 1, 2023, you might still be able to get an offer through QTAC.
Let’s talk about QTAC deadlines and due dates.
Applications are officially closed for the major offer round – 12 January 2023
QTAC applications were due by 9 December 2022 for the QTAC offer rounds on 12 January 2023 and 20 January 2023. (If you’ve already applied to QTAC, check out Can I still change my QTAC preferences.)
As I’ve written about before, most course offers for Semester 1, 2023 are released on 12 January 2023. Then, if there are still spaces available in some courses, extra offers are sent out on 20 January 2023.
But you might still be able to get an offer
You have until 19 January 2023 to apply to QTAC for the 27 January offer round.
Most highly competitive courses are unlikely to still have spaces left in this offer round, but you may find you get an offer for a less competitive degree on this day. I’d suggest giving QTAC a call to find out which courses are likely to still be sending offers in late January. You can get in touch with QTAC here.
Bond University’s medicine program is the exception
It’s also important to note that Bond University Medicine program is an exception. This program doesn’t send out their first offers until March, so it’s definitely not too late to apply for this program in late January.
Deciding what you’re going to do
With the info from QTAC about which courses might send top up offers on 28 January, you can decide if you’d like to apply to study next year, and to plan out your QTAC application and preference list.
You might also want to consider if a pathway to university is a good option for you.
And if you’re not feeling sure, talking your options through with a careers counsellor could help!
Good luck! 💪
